Which is the best tablet pc, which tablet computer should I buy? Should I be looking at Android tablet pcs, or maybe Apple ones? Easy, you just read all the tablet pc reviews, right? (If you don't wish to read the whole page, I'd suggest starting here).
It's enough to make you go grey and age early! Honestly, who needs choice? Just buy an iPad 2
! Oh, if only it were as easy as that. Of course everyone knows choice is good right? Well, it is good if you have enough information and knowledge, but all this takes time. On this website I will give you enough information to decide which tablet computer will suit your needs. I'm UK based so all the information will be relevant and all tablet computers are available in the UK. It's difficult, if not impossible for me to tell you outright which tablet computer is the best, or which tablet pc you should buy, we're all different and have different requirements, but I can give you enough knowledge for you to make an informed decision.
You can check out the menus at the top of this page where you'll find a whole range of tablet related information from a beginners guide to processor information and reviews to help you find the best tablet pc. You'll also find tablet computer reviews and a selection of tablet pcs available through Amazon and eBay.
So, what things should you need to consider when looking for your ultimate tablet pc? Well, probably the most important thing you need to decide is how you think you'll use it and what apps you're likely to use. Operating system is a necessary consideration, although not the most exciting subject to many, it will define ultimately what you can and can't run.
Screen type, be it resistive or capacitive. You don't get the choice of screens when buying a tablet, as such, if you buy an iPad
for instance, you'll get a capacitive screen, but it's helpful to know what you're getting. If you decide on a cheap tablet PC like the NATPC M009S
you might end up with a resistive screen and a limited storage space. Although these are fantastic value tablets, you might not need a lot of storage, or a resistive screen might be OK for your use, make sure they aren't missing a feature you want or need.
The processor is the engine of any tablet computer and if you're expecting to use your tablet more like a laptop, then the faster processor you get the better. Faster processor means more money of course. To enable you to choose the best tablet pc for you, you might want to select a tablet with the same operating system as your mobile phone. Many mobile phone manufacturers such as HTC, RIM (Blackberry), Apple, Motorola all make tablet computers. This might be a good decision as they will run the same (or similar) operating system and it will be something you're familiar with. You'll probably have the necessary utilities that enable you to "synch" the phone with you PC, this should also work with the tablet. You can look at my tablet pc comparison chart which will give you a good visual reference.
Tablet pcs are not based on the architecture of PC's, so comparisons to desktops, or even laptops can be misleading. Up until recently Android based tablets came with Android 2.3 (gingerbread) this is actually Android's mobile phone operating system and didn't really fit the bill. It wasn't until Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) that an Android operating system was optimised for the tablet market, taking into account the fact that tablets have larger screens than mobile phones and using the whole screen in an optimised manner.
To get an in-depth review of the best tablet pc, I suggest you check out the tablets under the "Tablet Computer Reviews" drop down menu above. Naturally I'll chip in with my opinion, but feel free to tell me if I'm wrong, or indeed right, about my opinions. Which Tablet Computer?
As I've mentioned before, deciding which tablet computer to buy is not that easy. I can tell you about a cheap tablet pc, an Android tablet pc or even a list of accessories, however, as I said, I can't, of course, tell you what the best tablet pc is, actually I can, but it'll be the tablet I like myself, it might not suit you. So, the two things you need to think of is...
Firstly decide what you think you might use it for:
- Surfing the Web
- Reading / sending email
- Using apps (productivity / games / lifestyle / entertainment etc
- Watching films
- Listening to music
